JaNae is a 32-year-old Black lesbian, world traveler, and the unapologetic force behind Sapphic Sail — the semi-annual luxury cruise experience she built because the one she needed didnt exist.

With her passport stamped across the Caribbean, Europe, Africa, and Southeast Asia, JaNae has spent years navigating some of the worlds most breathtaking destinations as a Black queer woman — learning early that luxury travel wasnt designed with her in mind. She moved through spaces that were beautiful but not built for her, welcoming but not truly inclusive, and stunning but somehow still lonely. She took notes every time.

Those notes became Sapphic Sail.

"I stopped waiting for the luxury travel industry to make space for us. I built the ship myself."

Entry requirements

Who Sapphic Sail is for

Two requirements. Both non-negotiable. Both in place to protect the experience for everyone on board.

Age policy

You must be 21 or older to sail.

Sapphic Sail is a WLW-centered, adults-only experience. We enforce a strict 21 age minimum to protect the energy, safety, and comfort of everyone on board.

  • Valid government-issued photo ID required at check-in
  • Age verified at embarkation — no exceptions
  • Applies to every guest in your cabin
  • Bookings with underage guests will be cancelled
Booking requirement

Book through Sapphic Sail. Full stop.

Your Sapphic Sail booking is what places you on the official Sapphic Sail manifest and unlocks your wristband — your all-access pass to every exclusive event.

  • Booking directly through Virgin Voyages does NOT grant Sapphic Sail access
  • Your wristband comes only through Sapphic Sail
  • Wristband-only event doors are strictly enforced
  • No wristband = no entry to exclusive events
If you didnt book through Sapphic Sail, you are not on our manifest — even if youre on the same ship.
Travel documents

A valid passport is required.

All guests must have a valid passport to board. This is non-negotiable — no passport means no boarding, regardless of your booking status.

  • Passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates
  • Apply or renew early — standard processing takes 8–11 weeks
  • Expedited processing available but not guaranteed
  • Bring your physical passport — digital copies are not accepted at embarkation
