We believe in telling you everything up front. Here's exactly what may come up beyond your cabin fare, so nothing catches you by surprise.
⚠️ The open bar fee is mandatory and will be charged to everyone in the group, regardless. There is no admission fee for our nightlife events — entry is included with your booking. But because you are sailing with our group, the open bar fee applies to you and will be charged to your account. This is not optional and there are no exceptions.
Let's separate two things that often get confused. Admission is free. You are not paying to get into our nightlife events. What the fee covers is the alcohol and food served at them, which Virgin Voyages requires us to arrange as an open bar for any private event.
This applies to all Sapphic Sail sailings, including sailors who booked directly with Sapphic Sail. Every guest in the group is charged the open bar fee, regardless of how or where the booking was made. There are no exemptions.
Open bar fees are not pocketed by Sapphic Sail or Boss Britt. Not a dollar. This is a requirement from Virgin Voyages for private events, charged on their behalf. Hosting an open bar is what allows us to close our events off to anyone outside our group — think of it like a venue buyout, where exclusive venues need bar sales to stay exclusive.
Beyond our standard lineup, there may be additional events designated as premium events or VIP activations. Recent and upcoming examples include "The No Homo Show Live" and VIP cabana experiences.
These require a valid ticket and are ticketed through a separate ticketing platform chosen by Boss Britt and Sapphic Sail.
These are optional add-ons and are billed separately from your cabin fare. Availability is limited and pricing is set per experience. Details and ticket links will be announced ahead of sailing.
You are never required to purchase a premium event or VIP activation to enjoy your sailing.
🎟️ Not every event costs extra. We will still have events that are completely free — no ticket required and no open bar fee attached. For those, all you need is your wristband, which you'll receive at check-in.
Your wristband is your access. Hold onto it, because our events are wristband-enforced and anyone without one will not be admitted.
Outside of our open bar events, Virgin Voyages runs on a bar tab system rather than an all-inclusive drink package. You load money onto your account and drinks come out of that balance.
Purchased bar tabs are not refunded. Any credits you buy must be used before you leave the ship. Unused credits do not carry over and are not returned, so plan your spending accordingly.
Gratuities may be applied to purchases and services onboard the ship. These are charged directly by Virgin Voyages to your onboard folio and are separate from anything you pay Sapphic Sail or Boss Britt.
This typically applies to bar tabs, spa services, and certain onboard purchases. Rates are set by Virgin Voyages.
Outside of what's listed on this page, no other additional charges are required. Everything else in our lineup is included with your booking.
